The IDF says it has concluded its operation in Hebron and pulled out of the neighborhood where the two gunmen behind the October 23 checkpoint attack lived. Palestinian media reported that troops withdrew from several neighborhoods after 11 days of operations.
The attack killed Staff Sgt. Ron Yonatan Roytman and Sgt. Yuval Shai Svilem and wounded three other soldiers. The gunmen, Hebron residents Mohammad Jaaba and Firas Jaaba, were shot dead. Following the shooting, troops entered their neighborhood to demolish their homes and tore down illegally built structures near the checkpoint.
The military said it searched hundreds of buildings, detained dozens of suspects for questioning and seized three firearms during operations across the city. Thousands of residents were displaced during the raid.
