The United States is increasing its military presence and logistical support in the Middle East as preparations continue for a possible renewed campaign against Iran.
Military aviation tracking data indicates that several U.S. military transport aircraft have flown into Israel in recent days. Washington is reportedly replenishing munitions and strengthening missile defenses in the region.
The developments follow U.S. warnings to Gulf states to prepare for possible renewed strikes against Iran after the November 3 American midterm elections. According to AP, regional governments were also warned to prepare for Iranian retaliation against energy facilities and other critical infrastructure.
President Donald Trump has not made a final decision on renewed strikes, according to diplomats who spoke to AP. Military action could begin after next week's elections or sooner.
