Iran's security chief Mohsen Rezaei said today that no enriched nuclear material would leave the country and that negotiations with Washington would depend on the United States first fulfilling Iran's conditions, according to Iranian state-aligned Mehr News Agency.
Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir in Tehran. "Not even a single particle of enriched nuclear material will leave Iran," he said, describing the stockpile as national wealth intended for domestic use. He said Washington must take steps to build trust before negotiations could proceed.
Separately, The New Arab reported that Pakistani and Qatari mediators had submitted a new proposal addressing Iran's nuclear program and the release of frozen Iranian assets. Sources familiar with the mediation told the outlet that both Washington and Tehran had responded positively to the proposal.
