US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly held an unannounced meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Ovda Air Base in southern Israel on Monday. Axios reported the meeting, citing sources familiar with the visit, while Army Radio said Emirati representatives also attended.
The talks came eight days before Israel's election, amid reported US-Israeli discussions about potentially renewing major combat operations against Iran. Hegseth also met American troops at the base, where US fighter jets and refueling aircraft are deployed, according to Axios.
