The U.S

By Bernard Moerdler,

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem issued a renewed security alert Sunday, urging Americans in the Middle East to exercise heightened vigilance and prepare for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and travel disruptions.

The embassy cited attacks by Iran-supported Houthis on Saudi airports and other infrastructure, which it said had caused civilian casualties and disrupted travel. It warned that hostilities could "escalate rapidly beyond that immediate area" and that Iran and groups supporting it could target U.S. interests and locations associated with Americans worldwide.

Similar U.S. alerts have preceded earlier escalations involving Iran. The renewed warning is worth noting alongside the military readiness measures already reported, although it does not establish that another attack is imminent.

The embassy said routine and emergency consular services in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv remain open. It advised Americans to monitor official updates, check flight information directly with airlines, prepare alternative travel plans and follow instructions from local authorities.
