The IDF has formally acknowledged that a Hezbollah cluster munition was likely responsible for today's explosion during a school hike on Ramim Ridge in northern Israel, which killed a 15-year-old boy.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, a preliminary investigation indicates that the explosive device was likely left behind by Hezbollah during the fighting. The military emphasized that the circumstances remain under investigation.

Following the incident, Israel's police commissioner said authorities may consider reducing or temporarily suspending school field trips while reviewing whether hiking areas can be safely accessed by students.

"We may reduce or suspend the field trips to determine whether we are putting the children at risk," the commissioner said.

MDA previously confirmed 19 people injured, including two seriously and three moderately. A subsequent report placed the number of injured at 24, although the higher figure has not yet been officially confirmed.
