President Donald Trump said he is weighing his options on Iran and that major developments are coming in the near future, Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst said today after speaking with the president by phone.

Yingst said Trump described the choices on the table as wiping Iran out, letting it collapse economically, or making a deal. "My question is, if and when do I blow the entire nation up? They better behave," Trump told him, according to Yingst.

Yingst said Trump also told him he would probably be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is scheduled to address the U.N. General Assembly in New York on Wednesday. The State Department said on Thursday it had granted visas to Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

As we reported earlier, Trump is due to meet leaders from six Gulf states in New York on Tuesday and told Axios on Thursday that he was weighing whether to resume large-scale strikes on Iran.
