Senior military commanders from the United States, Israel and several Arab countries met privately in Germany

Senior military commanders from the United States, Israel and several Arab countries met privately in Germany last week to discuss the war with Iran and broader regional tensions, Axios reported, citing two Israeli officials.

According to Axios, U.S. Central Command chief Adm. Brad Cooper organized the meeting, which included the military chiefs of Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt.

The gathering brought Israel's military leadership together with senior commanders from several Arab states at a time of heightened regional tensions surrounding Iran, the Strait of Hormuz and the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. The meeting also reflects continued behind-the-scenes military coordination between Israel, the United States and Arab governments despite the wider regional conflict.
