Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy claims it attacked three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, alleging the vessels had been traveling through unauthorized routes. The IRGC also said it targeted three US vessels elsewhere, though the United States has not immediately confirmed the claims.
The statement comes after US Central Command said American forces struck three Iranian oil tankers on Saturday. CENTCOM said one of the vessels was targeted near Kharg Island, home to Iran's primary oil export terminal.
