There are no talks or conversations going on or scheduled with Iran

By Bernard Moerdler,

There are no talks or conversations going on or scheduled with Iran, President Trump said in a post on his social media account.

"The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect. The Hormuz Strait is open and operating. All water mines have been removed or detonated," Trump wrote. "Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

The post follows a report by Al Arabiya on Monday that the two sides had agreed to extend the ceasefire by a further 60 days, and a statement by a senior Iranian official that "there are no talks about an extension," as we reported earlier. The 60-day window set by the memorandum of understanding the two governments signed in June expired Monday without an agreement.

Iran says the strait remains closed until Washington meets its conditions. Confirmed crossings have run at a fraction of the roughly 130 to 140 daily transits recorded before the war.
