Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continued a series of meetings in Washington on Wednesday, holding talks with U.S. lawmakers and key pro-Israel leaders, including Senators John Fetterman, Tim Sheehy, Ted Cruz, AIPAC officials, and leaders of the Evangelical community. Sara Netanyahu joined several of the meetings.
During the discussions, Netanyahu thanked his guests for their continued backing of Israel, praising their support for the U.S.-Israel alliance and efforts against Iran and its regional proxies. In his meeting with Evangelical leaders, he called on supporters to stand firm against growing antisemitism and anti-Evangelical hostility, saying the two communities "are one" and urging them to "fight, fight, fight."
Sen. John Fetterman reaffirmed his strong support for Israel, calling it "a miracle" and saying he was proud to remain one of its strongest Democratic supporters in Congress. He defended Israel's military campaign against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, while expressing regret over what Israel and the Jewish people have endured since October 7. Netanyahu responded by thanking Fetterman for his "courage and clarity," saying history would remember his commitment to "truth and justice."
Netanyahu also met with Sen. Tim Sheehy, who said true allies reveal themselves "when you're under siege, not when it's sunny," while Netanyahu thanked him for standing with Israel. The prime minister later held additional meetings with AIPAC leadership and Sen. Ted Cruz as he continued his diplomatic visit in Washington.
