Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have instructed the IDF to take a series of steps in response to the attacks of the past 24 hours, following consultations with members of the Security Cabinet and heads of the security establishment, according to a joint statement.
The measures include demolishing the home of the attacker behind this morning's shooting near the village of Tell, action in villages the statement described as hubs of attacks, including weapons confiscation and the revocation of work permits, reinforcement of units throughout the West Bank, separation of traffic routes and checkpoints, and accelerating the authorization of farm outposts and the establishment of new ones.
Netanyahu and Katz offered condolences to the family of Benayahu Mellet and wished a full recovery to those wounded, saying they stand with the security forces and residents.
The statement said security forces must be allowed to operate freely and with full force, and called for refraining from any action that could harm their operations or divert them from protecting Israeli citizens.
