A new wave of US strikes on Iran is underway, a US official told BNN.

Explosions were reported across multiple areas of the country as the attacks began, according to local accounts, with residents describing blasts and the sound of fighter jets. In Ahvaz, in the southwest, locals reported multiple heavy explosions in succession. Blasts were also reported in Tabriz in the northwest, where residents described the sound of jets followed by explosions and ground tremors, and along the southern coast near Sirik.

The strikes would mark the latest in a US campaign that has run for eleven consecutive nights, targeting Iranian infrastructure, air defenses and sites tied to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, President Donald Trump warned that the United States would destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant, including in or near Tehran, for every ship Iran attacks in the strait.
