The US Embassy in Jordan says authorities are evacuating King Hussein International Airport and the nearby Aqaba seaport after receiving what it describes as a "specific and credible threat." Americans are being urged to avoid both locations and stay away from military installations across the kingdom.
The warning comes as tensions continue to rise following Friday's Iranian attack on a US military base in Jordan, which left two American service members dead and another still missing. Aqaba is located on the Red Sea, directly across from Israel's southern resort city of Eilat.
