US President Donald Trump hailed Iran's release of an American woman who had been detained since December 2024, calling it a sign of "Goodwill" as the move fueled hopes of a possible easing in tensions between the two countries.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the woman had been "wrongfully detained" and confirmed she is "now safely outside of Iran, and in good condition," adding that the United States "appreciates this gesture of Goodwill by Iran!"
