Earlier this afternoon, the US military said it conducted a fresh wave of strikes against Iran. The roughly 90-minute operation targeted coastal defense systems as well as cruise missile storage and launch sites on Iran's Greater Tunb Island.
According to US Central Command, the strikes were carried out to further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, targeting military capabilities it says have been used in previous attacks on maritime traffic in the strategic waterway.
