Overnight, the US launched another major wave of airstrikes across Iran, with CENTCOM saying its forces struck dozens of military targets during a seven-hour operation, including missile and drone sites, naval capabilities and coastal defense systems, as Washington officially reinstated its naval blockade of Iran. Iranian officials reported fresh strikes in Bushehr, with the city's governor saying, "The American enemy attacked three locations in Bushehr today." Iran also said at least seven military personnel were killed and several others wounded after 13 missiles hit a military base in Bampur, adding that it would deliver a "decisive response." Iranian media later reported air defenses were activated around the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
Iran responded with attacks across the region, with state media saying the army launched drones at the US Al-Azraq base in Jordan, while the IRGC said it fired cruise missiles at a US logistics center in Kuwait and struck facilities used by the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. Bahrain said its air defenses intercepted multiple Iranian aerial threats after sirens sounded, accusing Tehran of continuing "its systematic hostile approach through its criminal attacks that target civilians." Kuwait said it was confronting hostile Iranian drones, while Jordan announced it intercepted three Iranian missiles.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump warned that unless Iran returns to negotiations, Washington would significantly expand its campaign, saying, "Next week comes the power plants. Next week comes the bridges. We're going to knock out all their power plants. We're going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate." He later added, "You better make a deal. You're not going to have anybody left," while insisting the US remains prepared to strike additional nuclear sites if necessary.
CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper accused Iran of attacking seven commercial vessels over the past week, saying the assaults left "nearly a dozen" civilian crew members killed, wounded or missing, adding that "US forces are holding Iran accountable for unwarranted aggression that continues to endanger innocent lives."
