By Bernard Moerdler,

The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai canceled all consular appointments from July 13 to 15, citing the regional security situation. Americans with appointments on those dates were told not to come to the embassy or consulate and that they would be contacted to reschedule, the embassy said.

The embassy and consulate remain on ordered-departure status, with non-emergency U.S. government personnel relocated outside the UAE, leaving only limited consular assistance available. Americans needing passport or other consular services were directed to contact the mission through its online Citizen Services Navigator. All routine U.S. visa services in the UAE remain suspended.
