Iran issued a public warning to civilians in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, calling on them to move away from U.S. military bases and installations in their countries. In a statement, Iran said residents should evacuate areas near any missile systems or launch platforms and keep their distance from American military sites, claiming that some residential areas in the three states were being used to launch surface-to-surface missiles toward Iran.
Iran said it had previously warned the governments of the three states against what it called dependency on the United States and asserted that those governments "bear full responsibility for all the consequences that will result from this path." BNN was not able to independently verify Iran's claim that residential areas are being used to launch missiles, and authorities in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE have not commented. No evacuation instructions have been issued by the national authorities of any of the three countries.
