For the first time in more than 50 years, an Israeli government is set to complete its full term, with the current Knesset finishing its four-year mandate on July 17 and national elections scheduled for October 27.
The date was announced by House Committee chairman Ofir Katz during discussions on election financing legislation. Knesset legal adviser Sagit Afik said no bill to dissolve the Knesset is needed, as parliament will complete its term naturally. The October vote will also be Israel's first election held on its originally scheduled date in nearly 40 years.
