Police in the West Bank launched a rapid response after receiving reports that an armed IDF servicewoman had entered a vehicle with Palestinian license plates in the Gush Etzion area, raising concerns of a possible kidnapping.

The vehicle was stopped a short while later on Route 375 near Beitar Illit, where officers found the soldier safe and unharmed. A preliminary investigation determined that the two were in a relationship, and the suspected abduction was unfounded. Police say the soldier's weapon was confiscated, and both she and the Palestinian man were taken for questioning, while the incident was referred to the Military Police for further investigation.
