The IDF has destroyed Hezbollah underground infrastructure near the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon as part of an operation it called "Sof Pasuk," or "Full Stop," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement. The tunnel, more than 200 meters long and over 25 meters deep, held hundreds of weapons and several launch shafts intended for attacks on Israeli territory and its civilians, according to the statement.
Israel notified the United States and the U.S. envoy to Lebanon in advance of the operation, the statement said. It added that IDF commanders and soldiers would remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon and continue to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure, remove threats to communities in northern Israel, and protect Israeli civilians.
