The IDF says a helicopter carrying President Isaac Herzog made an emergency landing at Palmachim Airbase today after striking birds during the flight.
The president had been traveling from a memorial ceremony at Mount Herzl to a shiva visit in northern Israel. Following the landing, Herzog and the crew transferred to another helicopter and continued the trip as planned.
According to the military, no one was injured and no damage was caused. The helicopter has since been handed over to Israeli Air Force technical crews for inspection and maintenance, while the incident remains under investigation.
