Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the command that coordinates the country's regular army and Revolutionary Guards, announced that it would close the Strait of Hormuz to vessel traffic, citing what it called the United States' failure to implement the first clause of the war-ending memorandum and Israel's continued strikes and non-withdrawal in southern Lebanon. The command called the closure the first step in responding to what it described as the enemy's breaking of the agreement, and warned that further steps would follow if what it called the aggression continued.
A military source told the Revolutionary Guards-linked Fars news agency that the Strait of Hormuz remained closed and that the Guards' navy would not issue permits for vessel passage until further notice.
