On the U.S.-Iran negotiations track, Iran's Foreign Ministry said it planned to hold a meeting in the coming days on the next phase of talks to draft a final agreement, and that consultations were being conducted through mediators. The ministry's spokesperson said that because the memorandum of understanding was digitally signed on June 18, holding the planned meeting in Switzerland was no longer urgent. The spokesperson said that under the memorandum, the start of negotiations on a final agreement is conditional on the beginning and continued implementation of clauses 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11, which cover the ceasefire, the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade, passage through the Strait of Hormuz, oil-export waivers, and the release of frozen assets.
