The IDF has announced the death of Lt. Col. Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon, commander of the 52nd Battalion in the 401st Armored Brigade, along with three other soldiers who were killed in an overnight Hezbollah attack in southern Lebanon. The identities of the other fallen soldiers will be released at a later time.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the village of Kfar Tebnit, where a tank carrying the battalion commander was struck, apparently by either an anti-tank missile or a drone. All four crew members were killed in the blast, while the exact cause remains under investigation.
Ben Simhon, 32, from Beit HaShita, had assumed command of the battalion after his predecessor was seriously wounded during fighting in southern Lebanon earlier this year. May their memory be a blessing.
