Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told President Donald Trump that Israel does not consider itself bound
By Bernard Moerdler,
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told President Donald Trump that Israel does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon clause of the agreement with Iran and that Israel will not withdraw from Lebanon, according to Israeli sources cited by Ynet. The sources said Netanyahu told Trump the IDF would remain in its current positions and continue acting against the threat from Hezbollah, including striking Hezbollah infrastructure and responding to any attack on Israel. Netanyahu told Trump that linking the Lebanese and Iranian fronts was unacceptable and that Israel would not accept Iranian dictates in Lebanon. Senior Israeli officials said the cabinet was united in standing firm on the issue, even at the cost of friction with Washington.
