Iranian state television confirmed that an agreement has been reached to end the war on all fronts, the first confirmation from Tehran after the United States and Pakistan announced a deal. All three sides, the United States, Iran, and the mediating government of Pakistan, have now said an agreement was reached, though it has not yet been signed.
Iranian state media framed the agreement as one the United States "was forced" to sign to end the war with Iran and what it called the Resistance Front, and Iranian outlets citing an informed source said President Donald Trump backed down at the last minute and immediately lifted the U.S. naval blockade rather than phasing it out over 30 days, crediting warnings from parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The semi-official Mehr agency said the United States had accepted a withdrawal from all fronts, a claim that conflicts with Israel's stated refusal to withdraw from southern Lebanon, and BNN was not able to independently verify the Iranian characterizations.
