The IDF says senior Hezbollah commander Ali Musa Daqduq was killed in a precise strike south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon on Friday.
According to the military, Daqduq held several senior roles within Hezbollah over the years, including positions in the Radwan Force, the Nasser Unit's Operations Department, and as head of the group's infantry unit. He also led Hezbollah's so-called "Golan Terrorist Network," which the IDF says was responsible for establishing military infrastructure near Israel's border from Syria.
The IDF said Daqduq played a central role in planning and advancing attacks against Israeli troops along the Lebanon border and was considered one of Hezbollah's most experienced operational commanders. He also previously served as the security chief for former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
According to the military, Daqduq was imprisoned by U.S. forces in 2007 after orchestrating the kidnapping and killing of five American soldiers. The IDF described his elimination as another significant blow to Hezbollah's senior command structure and said it will continue operating against the group's leadership.
