Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and U.S. President Donald Trump reviewed the results of U.S.-Iran consultations that they said had produced progress in the understandings reached, according to a readout from the Qatari Emir's office of a call between them. The readout said Trump affirmed that the understandings had received the approval of all concerned parties, with the support of several countries including Qatar, while efforts continued to finalize procedures ahead of announcing a signing.
Two of the parties described as having approved have indicated otherwise. A source close to the Iranian negotiating team told the Revolutionary Guards-linked Fars news agency that no text of an agreement had been approved, and an Israeli source told CNN that Israel was not aware of any impending agreement or of any approval. The readout reflects Trump's affirmation of broad approval, conveyed through Qatar, rather than confirmation from the parties themselves, and no agreement has been signed.
