Details are emerging regarding the incident at Efrat Junction, where dozens of Jewish rioters blocked the road, stopped Palestinian vehicles, and according to field reports, conducted searches of passing cars. Stones were also thrown at Palestinian drivers, who eventually fled the scene. In the chaos, one of the Jewish participants was apparently struck by a vehicle.
Security forces present at the junction did not disperse the rioters or stop the incident from unfolding. According to witnesses, soldiers on the ground spoke with the Jewish participants but made no arrests. Reinforcements were called to the scene, though by then the situation had already played out largely without interference.
