Earlier this morning, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem rejected a ceasefire brokered by the U.S. between Israel and the Lebanese government. Qassem rejected the talks, calling them "absurd, humiliating, and shameful," and continued on to say that Hezbollah's resistance will keep going "as long as the occupation exists." He went on to call for a comprehensive ceasefire, with a full withdrawal of Israeli troops from all of southern Lebanon, as well as a halt to all Israeli strikes anywhere in Lebanon. He also stated that no one has a right to intervene in internal Lebanese affairs except for those inside of Lebanon.
As a result, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has issued a security alert for American citizens inside of Israel, The West Bank, and Gaza to keep monitoring the news for updates due to high tensions in the region. Since the rejection of the ceasefire, there have been several drone and rocket alerts in Northern Israel.
