A ground operation pushing north of the Litani River is underway in southern Lebanon, according to the IDF, with forces operating in the Beaufort Ridge and Wadi al-Saluki area as part of a broader ongoing campaign against Hezbollah. The ridge, developed under Iranian direction into a command and launch hub, was used to manage combat activities and fire hundreds of projectiles at Israeli civilians and soldiers.
Extensive air, artillery, and tank strikes preceded the ground entry, alongside engineering work laid the groundwork for the offensive push. The operation, planned under Northern Command and approved by the Chief of the General Staff, is focused on extending the Forward Defense Line and dismantling Hezbollah's physical presence in the area. Forces are also active near Nabatieh, a significant Hezbollah stronghold, with the IDF stating it is ready to expand operations further. The stated goal is removing direct threats to communities in the Galilee Panhandle and Metula.
