Iran opened fire tonight on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz

By Bernie,

Iran opened fire tonight on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, in what an Israeli source confirmed was an exchange of fire between Iranian forces and the United States. Iran's Tasnim news agency said the source of explosions heard in the area was IRGC warning fire toward ships that had not received Iranian authorization to transit the strait. Iran's Fars news agency reported that following the Iranian fire on the ships, "the enemy" struck targets on Iran's Qeshm Island.

Iranian state broadcaster IRIB said that "enemy units attacking in the Strait of Hormuz area came under Iranian missile fire, and after sustaining damage, were forced to flee." Iranian state television later claimed Iranian forces had hit a U.S. naval vessel and an American aircraft carrier, forcing American forces to withdraw.
