Tehran sharpened its public rejection of a second round of talks with the United States on Tuesday, even as American and Pakistani officials signaled preparations in Islamabad for a possible resumption of negotiations. State broadcaster IRIB aired an on-screen alert stating that no Iranian diplomatic delegation, primary or secondary, initial or follow-up, has traveled to Islamabad so far.
The representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in the IRGC struck a harder line, saying no negotiations are underway and that Tehran will engage only once Washington accepts its terms. "The enemy must acknowledge that we are in the position of the victor and it is in the position of the loser," he said. The two-week U.S.-Iran ceasefire is set to expire on Wednesday.
