US Vice President JD Vance says negotiations between the United States and Iran in Pakistan have ended without a deal, with American officials now departing and returning to the United States after roughly 21 hours of talks.
Speaking to reporters, Vance said the discussions collapsed after Iran refused to accept US terms on its nuclear program, emphasizing: "But the simple fact is that we need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon, and they will not seek the tools that would enable them to quickly achieve a nuclear weapon," adding, "That is the core goal of the president of the United States. And that's what we've tried to achieve through these negotiations."
Iranian outlets also confirmed the outcome, with Tasnim saying "excessive US demands" blocked a framework, while Press TV reported disputes over nuclear issues, passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and Tehran's nuclear rights, underscoring that the talks ultimately ended without agreement.
