CBS News is reporting that originally, President Trump had intended that the current ceasefire with Iran would be a blanket ceasefire across the Middle East- including with Hezbollah in Lebanon. However, Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump spoke on the phone on the hours before the announcement of the ceasefire. In that conversation, Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly convinced President Trump that Hezbollah should not be included in the ceasefire with Iran.

However, Israel has agreed to sit down for talks with the Lebanese government- with the intention of pushing them and the Lebanese Army to disarm Hezbollah. Potential issues include the fact that the Lebanese government has previously agreed to disarm Hezbollah, but has been unable to do so. As a result, there are concerns these talks will not be productive.

At the same time, the Iranian government continues to demand an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon before any negotiations with Israel and the United States can begin.
