Following the ceasefire that ended the joint US and Israel campaign against Iran, Israel will fully reopen its airspace, with the Transportation Ministry confirming that regular operations at Ben Gurion Airport will resume starting at midnight tonight. The airspace had been largely closed to commercial traffic since February 28, when the strikes on Iran began.
El Al says it is preparing a gradual return to a normal flight schedule, increasing frequencies out of Tel Aviv as restrictions are lifted. Beginning tonight, the airline will operate departing flights at full passenger capacity without the wartime limitations that had been in place.
Starting next week, El Al plans to expand to a full-flight format across roughly 30 destinations, including major European cities such as Athens, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Rome, and London, alongside destinations like Batumi, Tbilisi, and Larnaca. Long-haul routes are also set to resume, with flights to Bangkok, Phuket, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami included in the schedule.
