Three attackers were shot dead by Turkish security forces after opening fire Tuesday near the building

By Sammy,

Three attackers were shot dead by Turkish security forces after opening fire Tuesday near the building that houses the Israeli consulate in Istanbul's Besiktas district, according to Turkish media and Reuters. Two police officers were also wounded in the incident.

It remains unclear whether the consulate was the intended target. A member of the local Jewish community said the site has been closed for at least two years and is likely unstaffed. Footage showed officers taking cover as gunfire rang out, with a heavy police presence remaining in the area afterward.
