According to Iranian media, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Marvdasht Petrochemical Complex near Shiraz yesterday, just hours after the Israeli Air Force struck Iran's largest petrochemical facility in Asaluyeh.
The IDF confirms the strike near Shiraz, stating the site was used by Iran's armed forces to produce nitric acid, a key material for explosives and components tied to ballistic missile development. It adds that this facility was among the few remaining complexes capable of producing essential chemical inputs for such weapons, following recent strikes on additional plants in southern Iran.
The military says the attack further weakened the regime's military production capabilities, particularly those linked to missile-related materials. Separately, the IAF also carried out a strike on a ballistic missile facility in northwestern Iran, which the IDF says had been used to launch dozens of missiles toward Israel, targeting the site while personnel were actively operating there.
