As BNN continues to cover yesterday's deadly impact in Haifa, new details are emerging about the interception failure that allowed the missile to strike the residential building.
According to the IDF, the missile partially broke apart midair and did not detonate as intended, complicating interception efforts. Air defenses attempted to intercept the projectile, but part of it continued on course and hit the structure, causing the collapse of its lower floors.
Officials say the remaining unexploded material still contains a significant amount of explosive and will be neutralized once rescue operations are complete. At this stage, it is not considered an immediate threat.
