After Iranian state-linked media first announced his death
By Sammy,
After Iranian state-linked media first announced his death, Israel confirmed it carried out overnight airstrikes in Tehran that killed Majid Khademi, the head of intelligence in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IRGC said in a statement carried by Tasnim that Khademi, who led both its Intelligence Organization and Intelligence Protection branch, had been killed.
The IDF said the strikes also killed another senior IRGC figure, identifying him as Yazdan Mir, also known as Sardar Bagheri, who headed the Quds Force's Unit 840, a unit linked to operations abroad, including against Israelis.
Defense Minister Israel Katz said he was updated during a security assessment with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, adding that Israel will continue targeting senior Iranian figures. Khademi had only recently taken up the role, replacing Mohammad Kazemi, who was killed during the June 2025 war.
