As part of what it describes as "continuous learning and improvement processes," the IDF Home Front Command says it is extending missile warning times in Eilat, Kibbutz Eilot, and the nearby Shachoret industrial zone to 90 seconds. The change, set to take effect within the coming day, is aimed at giving residents additional time to reach shelter.
The adjustment follows repeated attacks on the Eilat area in recent weeks, including ballistic missiles and drones launched from Iran and Yemen. Officials note that this step is part of broader efforts to strengthen civilian preparedness, pointing out that a similar extension was implemented last month in dozens of communities along the northern border.
