The IDF has announced the death of Sgt. First Class Guy Ludar, 21, from Yuvalim, a fighter in the Commando Brigade's Maglan Unit, who was killed during an overnight incident in southern Lebanon.
The incident, which is suspected to have been caused by friendly fire, occurred around 3 a.m. in the village of Shebaa during an arrest mission targeting a suspect accused of assisting Hezbollah.
According to an initial IDF probe, a soldier opened fire after believing he had identified suspects attempting to flee, fatally striking Ludar and seriously wounding another soldier.
The mission was completed, and the suspect was detained and brought to Israel for interrogation. The military says the circumstances are under further examination.
