According to Israel Railways, temporary travel restrictions will be in place for trains to and from Jerusalem during the intermediate days of Passover.
On Friday, April 3, Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6, trains serving Jerusalem-Yitzhak Navon railway station will be limited to 1,200 passengers per train in both directions.
The restriction comes due to the line's unique structure, with most of the route running underground and the Jerusalem station located around 80 meters below ground level. The cap is intended to ensure passengers can be evacuated quickly and safely in the event of an emergency.
Passengers traveling to or from Jerusalem on those dates will also be required to obtain a designated travel voucher in addition to a valid ticket, while those traveling between other stations along the line that do not include Jerusalem will not need one.
Vouchers can be issued via the Israel Railways website or app, through the service hotline, or with assistance from station staff, starting April 1. Passengers are advised to secure vouchers in advance.
