Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his first remarks since US President Donald Trump announced ongoing talks with Iran, says Israel will act to defend its vital interests under all circumstances.
In a video statement, Netanyahu says he spoke earlier today with Trump, describing him as "our friend," and notes that the US president believes recent gains by the IDF and US military could be used to pursue an agreement that still protects Israel's key interests.
At the same time, Netanyahu emphasizes that military activity is continuing, saying Israel is still striking targets in Iran and against Hezbollah. He says efforts are focused on weakening missile and nuclear capabilities, adding that two additional nuclear scientists were recently killed and that operations remain ongoing.
