Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) says the Rafah Crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt will reopen Wednesday, allowing Palestinians to pass through in both directions after it was shut when the war with Iran began.

The decision was made following a new assessment and a review of conditions for restarting activity at the crossing. COGAT says operations will resume "while maintaining the necessary security restrictions in light of the security situation and the threats in the area."
