Prime Minister Netanyahu is holding a security discussion tonight as Israel prepares to significantly expand its military operations in Lebanon, a senior Israeli official told reporters. "The direction is a significant expansion of operations in Lebanon. We are not detailing how or whether it will include ground forces, but we are preparing for every possibility," the official said.
The official stated that Lebanon's government has proven it is "not a factor in restraining Hezbollah. They don't count them." The official dismissed Hezbollah's strategy of escalating attacks to pressure Israel into easing its campaign in Iran: "Hezbollah is trying to get us to take our foot off the gas in Iran. That will not happen. We can manage both fronts simultaneously."
