Colonel Majid Kashfi, described as one of the Iranian regime's most notorious internal security figures, has been killed in a missile strike in Tehran. Kashfi was known for his role in the violent suppression of Iranian civilian protesters, part of the Basij and internal security apparatus that carried out the January 2026 massacre in which thousands of demonstrators were killed across the country.
His elimination comes on the same day as the confirmed killing of Asadollah Badfar, head of the Basij unit within Iran's Armed Forces General Staff, who also played a leading role in the crackdown on protesters. The targeted killings of senior regime enforcers are consistent with the IDF's stated strategy of dismantling Iran's internal suppression apparatus and Prime Minister Netanyahu's warning that "there will be no immunity for anyone in the Iranian regime who acts against the State of Israel and its citizens, from the Supreme Leader to the last soldier on the ground."
