Correction: An earlier BNN post described the NSC guidance on returning to Israel via Egypt and Jordan as "approved return routes." The National Security Council's statement recommends these routes for Israelis already arranging their own travel, but does not designate them as officially approved repatriation channels.
Israel's National Security Council has issued safety guidance for Israelis choosing to return home through Egypt or Jordan while Ben Gurion Airport remains closed. The NSC recommends flying only into Taba, Aqaba, or Amman and proceeding directly to the nearest Israeli border crossing without remaining in either country. Level 4 travel warnings remain in full effect for both Egypt and Jordan.
The NSC is also urging Israelis currently in the UAE to leave on commercial flights as soon as possible and recommending against any travel to or through the Emirates, including connecting flights. Travelers transiting through Egypt or Jordan are instructed to conceal anything that could identify them as Israeli or Jewish and to avoid posting personal information on social media.
The only officially announced government repatriation program remains "Lion's Wings," which routes through Egypt's Taba Airport and has not yet launched.
